Kira Wagar is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Wolverines' softball and volleyball programs.

The 2008 NJCAA National Tournament Most Valuable Player, Wagar played two seasons at Monroe Community College before transferring to Division II Bloomfield College.  In her two seasons at the JUCO level, Wagar led the Tribunes to back-to-back NJCAA National Championships.  As a sophomore in 2008, Wagar hit .571 in the seven-game tournament, including a 7-8 performance in the two-game Championship Series.  In her two seasons at MCC, Wagar drove in 96 runs while hitting just under .500.

Wagar made her debut at Bloomfield in 2009 and led the Decons with a .370 average and 14 steals.  Her two home runs, three stolen bases and six RBIs in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Playoffs helped her make the All-Tournament Team.  After missing nearly all of 2010, Wagar came back in 2011 and was named an NFCA First Team All-Region and All-CACC selection after leading the conference in hits (64) and doubles (18) while also connecting on a team-high seven home runs.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Wagar was recently named the recipient of the 2011 Bloomfield College Woman of the Year Award. Wagar is currently pursuing her master’s in Education.
