Wolverines Fall in CAC Quarterfinals

YORK, Pa. - Stephanie Bailey came off the bench for a career-high 15 points, but York's Chanel Perez and Kristen Daly combined for 47 points as Wesley College fell 88-53 to the Spartans in the Capital Athletic Conference Quarterfinals in York, Pennsylvania.

All of Bailey's points came on three point field goals.  The freshman hit 5-of-9 from the floor, but the rest of the team struggled mightily with its shot, hitting just 14-of-56 (25 percent).

Wesley also committed just 14 turnovers in the contest, but York (19-7) pounded Wesley (12-14) 59-33 on the glass, including 20 offensive boards.

The Wolverines trailed 47-30 at the half and the Spartans put the game away with a 29-8 run to open the second half.

Cory Boyd also scored in double figures with 12 points and had seven assists in the game.  Angie Owens added 11 rebounds.

Daly hit 11-of-15 field goals on her way to a game-high 26 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds.  Perez finished with 21 points and eight boards.  Keli Ward came up just two points and one assist shy of a triple double with eight points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for York.

York was whistled for just nine fouls in the game, compared to 16 called on the Wolverines.  The Spartans also held a 40-10 advantage on points in the paint.

The loss ends Wesley's season.  With a 12-14 record, the Wolverines won five more games under second-year Head Coach James Wearden.
