Owens Honored by ECAC
CAPE COD, Mass. - Wesley College sophomore forward Angie Owens was named the ECAC Division III South Co-Player of the Week after her performance in the Wesley College Classic December 28-30.
Owens was also named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the Wesley to the tournament crown.
She recorded 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting, to go along with 12 boards and three blocks in a win over Mount St. Vincent.
Wesley then won over previously undefeated Greensboro as Owens netted 10 points, blocked seven shots and grabbed a school-record 22 boards, giving her the fifth-highest rebound total for Division III this season.
Owens shares the award with Megan Kopecki of the University of Scranton.
Wesley, 4-5, will look for its fourth straight win when the Wolverines travel to CAC rival Stevenson for a 6:00 PM tip off on Thursday, January 8.
