Wesley Overpowers Hood 79-41

DOVER, Del. - Juniors Angie Owens (Seaford, Del./Seaford) and Cory Boyd (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) each turned in double doubles as Wesley snapped a two-game skid with a resounding 79-41 win over Hood College.
Owens sank 10-of-14 shots on her way to a game-high 23 points and led all players with 13 rebounds. Boyd finished with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 10 assists.
Shavonda Cephas (Milford, Del./Milford) also reached double figures for the Wolverines (12-8, 7-5 CAC) with 11 points. The sophomore grabbed seven rebounds.
Wesley used a 15-1 run early in the game to go ahead 17-5 with 12:42 to play. The Wolverines kept building the lead and held a 42-18 advantage at the half.
In the second half, Wesley extended the lead to as many as 42.
As a team, the Wolverines tallied 21 steals, including five by Lydia Jackson (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) and four by Katie Kirk (Drexel Hill, Pa./Archbishop Prendergast).
All 11 players who saw action for Wesley scored in the contest.
Jen Willison led Hood with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Kameran Evans notched 11 points off the bench.
The Wolverines limited the Blazers to just 29 percent shooting on the evening.
Wesley is back in action on February 4 with a non-conference contest at Gwynedd-Mercy.
