Women’s Lacrosse Easily Handles Hiram

DOVER, Del. – Mia Brocco, Nina Cornog and Jen Jacobs all recorded hat tricks as the Wesley College women's lacrosse team defeated Hiram College, 15-3, on Friday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium.  Jorden Lutz also recorded a team-high four caused turnovers and seven ground balls while Jessica Franklin was credited with five draw controls.

Wesley (2-3) scored the game's first ten goals, with eight coming in the first half to put the game out of reach.  After the Terriers got on the board with 23:32 left in the second half, Cornog scored two-straight goals and assisted on a goal by Brocco to extend the lead to 13-1 with 11:43 remaining.

After a Hiram timeout, Katherine Cooke replaced Alyssa Batty in goal for the Wolverines and made one save in the final 11:40.  Batty stopped five Hiram shots in just over 48 minutes of action.

Jessica Giaccone and Alyse Obermeyer found the back of the net before time expired.

The Wolverines will take on Thomas (Me.) on Saturday, March 11, at 4 pm.
