Women’s Lacrosse Falls at #1 Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Wesley College's women's lacrosse team fell to No. 1 Salisbury University, 20-6, on Wednesday night at Sea Gull Stadium.  The Wolverines now stand at 4-5 overall and 0-3 in the CAC while Salisbury remains unbeaten at 11-0 and 3-0 in league play.

Rylee Gould and Jorden Lutz kept Wesley in the game early as the teams traded a pair of goals in the opening five minutes.  However, Salisbury ran off three-straight and after a Lutz unassisted tally, scored the final ten goals of the first half to take a 15-3 halftime lead.

Lutz opened the second half with a goal on the free-position and Gould fed Kirsten Ward for a goal with 17:58 remaining, but the Sea Gulls outscored the Navy & White, 4-1, for the remainder of the game.

Gould led the Wolverines with four goals on two goals and two assists while Lutz notched a hat trick.  Stephanie Blakely had a team-high three ground balls and also caused a turnover.

Samantha Brannigan stopped ten shots in goal for Wesley.

Melissa Webster and Kylie Hanley had six points apiece to lead the Sea Gulls.

The Wolverines host St. Mary's for a CAC matchup on April 5 at 3 pm.
