Wolverines Release 2008 Schedule
Head Coach Ed Muntz and the Wesley College women's soccer team announced its 2008 schedule today, is highlighted by four teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament and one for ECAC South Tournament team in 2007. The schedule will also give the Wolverines 10 home matches and three teams that finished top five in the final regular season NSCAA/Adidas Middle Atlantic poll.
After the annual Alumni Game on August 23 and a home scrimmage against Bryn Mawr College on August 25, Wesley opens the 2008 campaign hosting the Wolverine Soccer Classic on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30. Marymount (Va.) University, Washington College and Neumann College will attend the opening weekend tournament.
After a successful first season in the Capital Athletic Conference, the soccer team will host Mary Washington, St. Mary's, Marymount, and York in home CAC matches in 2008. The Wolverines will hit the road against conference foes Villa Julie, Gallaudet, Hood and Route 13 rival Salisbury.
The 2008 schedule will also bring Elizabethtown, College of Notre Dame, Valley Forge Christian (Homecoming) and the first ever meeting with Lebanon Valley College to Wesley. The Wolverines remaining away matches are against Widener, Penn State Abington, Trinity and Richard Stockton.
Wesley finished the 2007 season with a 12-8-1 record and advanced to the CAC semifinals. Over the past four seasons, the Wolverines have reached either the conference finals (2004, 2006) or semifinals (2005, 2007). All home games are played at Scott D. Miller Stadium.
