Widener Shuts Out Wolverines
CHESTER, Pa. - Widener scored four times in the opening 38:27 to claim a 4-0 decision over visiting Wesley College.
The Pride's Sarah Schaffer scored her first goal just 36 seconds into the match for the game-winner. Widener added goals by Brittany Balentine, Brittany Harvis and Kim Sharpless to lead 4-0 at the half.
Kim Fearnbach stopped 10 shots for Wesley (4-7), who was outshot 31-2 in the contest.
Alee Gunter picked up the shutout for Widener (6-4-1).
Wesley hosts Notre Dame (Md.) on Thursday, October 9.
