Wolverines Fall at Haverford
HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Wesley College women's soccer team dropped its season opener with a 3-1 loss at Haverford.
The Fords (1-0) scored twice in the first 18 minutes, then extended it to 3-0 just over two minutes after the intermission.
Wesley (0-1) got on the board early in the 87th minute on a goal by Sammi Nevin (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) with an assist from Meghan Aiello (Abingdon, Md.).
Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made nine saves in her collegiate debut for Wesley.
Erin Dowling had a goal and an assist for Haverford.
The Fords held a 24-5 advantage in shots.
Wesley is back in action on September 4 at Washington.
