Wesley Shut Out by Ospreys
DOVER, Del. - A goal just 47 seconds before the half broke a scoreless tie and helped lead Richard Stockton to a 3-0 win over Wesley College in non-conference action.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first half before Leah Pocoroba scored with an assist by Courtney Dougherty at 44:13, just 47 seconds before the half.
The Ospreys (3-1) tacked on two more goals in the opening 6:38 of the second half to put the game away. Lauren O'Shea knocked in a goal in the 50th minute with the help of Melissa Scully. Richard Stockton then benefitted from an own goal by the Wolverine (1-2) defense in the 52nd minute to cap the scoring.
Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) stopped four shots - all in the first half - for Wesley. Her counterpart, Maria Dorris made just one save to pick up the shutout.
The Wolverines will host Cabrini on Saturday, September 12 at 6:00 PM.
