Wesley Drops 3-1 Final
DOVER, Del. - A breakaway goal late in the first half by Wesley's Samantha Hannibal (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) sent the Wolverines into the half tied with Catholic 1-1, but the Cardinals scored twice in the second half for the win.
The 23rd-ranked Cardinals (10-1), however, got a goal by Diana Spadaro in the 60th minute and Kelly Donnelly, who also scored Catholic's first half goal, iced the game in the 89th minute.
Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made 11 saves for the Wolverines (4-6).
Christina Cassidy stopped six shots for the Cardinals.
Wesley is back in action on October 6 when Widener comes to Dover for a 7:00 PM contest.
