Campbell's PK Leads Wesley
DOVER, Del. - Wesley was awarded a penalty kick in the 63rd minute and Lindsey Campbell (Bear, Del./Padua Academy) converted for the game's only goal in a 1-0 CAC win for Wesley in women's soccer action.
Much of the first half was a battle in the midfield as the teams entered halftime in a scoreless tie.
The action stayed the same throughout the second half until Wesley (5-7, 2-3 CAC) was awarded a penalty kick, which Campbell placed high into the right hand corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead.
The Blazers (7-4-1, 2-3) had several chances later in the half, but Wesley keeper Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made three of her six saves in a four minute span.
Kahan picked up her fifth shutout of the season, while Hood's Rachelle Buhrman stopped seven shots.
The Wolverines are back in action on October 14 at Shenandoah.
