Late Goal Does in Wesley

WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah's Jessi Dennis scored in the 89th minute to lead Shenandoah to a 2-1 non-conference win over Wesley in women's soccer.

The Wolverines (5-8) struck first when Kim Fearnbach (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) tallied her second goal of the year at 10:23 with an assist from Sarah Doyle (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee).

The Hornets (7-6-2) tied it up in the 39th minute on a goal by Amber Womack that sent the teams into the half deadlocked 1-1.  The tie held up throughout the second half and the teams appeared headed for overtime before Dennis took a feed from Shana Sumers and knocked it into the right side of the goal at 88:20 for the game-winner.

Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made seven saves for Wesley.

Brooke Strickler stopped five shots in goal for Shenandoah.

Wesley returns home on Friday, October 16 for the team's home finale, a CAC tilt with Stevenson.
