Wesley Blanked by Stevenson
DOVER, Del. - Stephanie Eyler scored twice as Stevenson captured a 2-0 win over Wesley College in Capital Atheltic Conference women's soccer.
The two teams were scoreless on a cold, rainy, windy night at Scott D. Miller Stadium until Eyler scored in the 35th minute with an assist from Julie Dempsey for a 1-0 halftime lead.
The CAC's leading scorer added another goal in the 58th minute when Eyler netted her 11th of the season.
Aside from the two well placed shots by Eyler, Wesley's (5-9, 2-4 CAC) Sydney Kahan (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) made a dozen saves, including several diving and leaping stops to keep the Wolverines in the contest.
Lauren Weitzman made six saves to notch the shutout for Stevenson (10-3-1, 5-1 CAC).
Wesley will look to rebound with a road trip to Lebanon Valley on October 22.
