Fredricksburg, Va. - The Wesley Women's Soccer team fought to a 0-0 tie after the first 45 minutes, but 4 goals by the Mary Washington Eagles in the final 45 minutes did in the pesky Wolverines 4-0. Junior goal keeper Kim Fearnbach (Pennington, N.J.) made 5 saves in the loss.
Mary Washington held the Wolverines to only 1 shot, a second half chance by Sammi Nevin (East Greenville, Pa.), in the contest, while firing off 14 of their own, including 10 in a goal filled second half.
The Eagles' Amy Olson (Herold) finally broke open the scoring at 46:22. Meghan Seelye (unassisted) added another goal a little over 3 minutes later.
Sarah McMillan added two goals in the final 20 minutes to bring the final score to 4-0.
The loss leaves the Wolverines at 1-4-1 overall and a 0-2 CAC record. Wesley will defend home turf on Thursday, September 23rd, when Washington College make a trip to Dover. Game time 7:00 p.m.
