No. 7 Mary Washington Too Much for Wesley

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Mary Washington showed why its ranked No. 7 in the nation, sweeping Wesley College 9-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) match.

It was an unceremonious CAC opener for the Wolverines (2-1, 0-1 CAC), who were playing their first conference match after moving to the CAC from the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.

In doubles play, Lauren Tarver and Rebecca Pennington suffered their first loss of the season at first doubles (1-8), as did the duo of Kori Isken and Amanda Bynon at second doubles (0-8).

Tarver, playing at first singles, and Bynon, at third, each took a game in the first set of singles matches, but fell in straight sets to their Mary Washington (8-1) foes.

Wesley returns to the courts on March 25, when the team travels to St. Mary's (Md.) for a CAC match.
