Wesley Suffers Third Straight 5-4 Loss
DOVER, Del. - Wesley College fell 5-4 for the third time in a week as York (Pa.) took a win from the Wolverines in match played at both Dover Indoor Tennis and the DuPont Tennis Courts.
Just as in Wesley's (2-5, 0-5 CAC) previous match, the Wolverines won at both first and second doubles and first and second singles. The duo of Lauren Tarver and Rebecca Pennington won 8-3 against Heidi Acker and Keturah Buchanan. Kori Isken and Amanda Bynon followed suit at second doubles, winning 8-6 over Stephanie Nelson and Paige Duterich.
All six singles matches were decided by pro sets.
Tarver and Pennington claimed singles wins, as well. Tarver was an 8-2 winner over Buchanan, while Pennington captured an 8-2 win against Duterich.
The Spartans (3-8, 2-3 CAC) claimed the final four singles seeds to win the match.
The match concluded Wesley's regular season. The Wolverines are idle until the CAC Championship Tournament on April 14.
