4x400 Relay Sets Women's Track School Record

NEWARK, Del. - With the majority of the team making their season-debuts, the Wesley College women's track & field team competed at the Thomson Invitation on Saturday at the Delaware Fieldhouse.  Competing against 23 other squads including six Division I members, several Wolverines set personal and collegiate bests.

Wesley earned a point with its school-record performance in the 4x400m Relay (4:35.90), anchored by Sherleen Sabin.  The rest of the relay team consisted of Twila McCrea, Stevie Carpenter and Shakeiya Marshall.

Narrowly missing out on scoring performances were Sharis Allen and Arvantis Smith, who finished ninth in the 60m hurdles and triple jump, respectively.  Allen finished her event in 10.18 while Smith recorded a 9.54m effort.

Wesley returns to the track on February 11 when it travels to Princess Anne, Md., for the UMES Collegiate Invitational.
