Streeter Leads Women’s Track & Field at Delaware Classic in Final Tuneup Before CAC’s

NEWARK, Del. – Elizsha Streeter win the 400m Dash in a school-record 57.39 to lead the Wesley College women's track & field team to a 4th place finish at the Delaware Classic at Grant Stadium on Saturday. 

A sophomore from Hagerstown, Md., Streeter broke her own school-record in the 400m by 17-hundredths of a second.  Streeter, who is tops in the CAC in the 400m Dash, also took third in the 200m dash in 26.02 despite a brutal headwind.

Finishing just behind Streeter in both races was classmate Angel Hall, who shattered her own personal-record in the 400m dash in 58.37, placing third overall.  Hall also took fourth in the 200m in 26.68.

Also turning in solid times in the 400m Dash was freshman Quadira Minus (1:00.15) and Danae Carter (1:01.32) while Minus also took fourth among college athletes in the 800m Run (2:35.25).  Fellow freshman Aja Russell also ran a 2:42.21 in the 800m Run

Battling the most inside lane, sophomore Dieunise Desir clocked a 1:08.88 in the 400m hurdles while Nicole Evanko led Wesley in the field events, tossing the hammer 105' 5.0" and the discus 81 feet.

The Wolverines head to York (Pa.) on May 1-3 at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships.
