Dina, Ikwuagwu selected as All-ECAC

DANBURY, Conn. – Wesley College senior forward Chimaobi Ikwuagwu and junior defender Matthew Dina were named to the 2018 Men's Soccer All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) team.

Dina landed a spot on the All-ECAC First Team. The Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Atlantic East First Teamer, Dina led the Wesley defense to nine shutouts and a 1.18 goals-against average. He started all 22 games and tallied two goals and an assist during the 2018 season.

A two-time Atlantic East Defender Player of the Week, Dina was picked as a member of the ECAC All-Tournament Team following the ECAC Championship Tournament.

The Atlantic East Offensive Player of the Year and fellow All-Atlantic East First Team honoree, Ikwuagwu was selected on the All-ECAC Second Team. Ikwuagwu recorded 31 points and 14 goals to lead the Atlantic East.  Ikwuagwu's 14 goals in 2018 ranked third on the Wesley season goal list while his 31 points tied him for third-most in a season in program history.

During the year, Ikwuagwu was named the Atlantic East Player of the Week three times.

Dina and Ikwuagwu were key components of Wesley tying the NCAA Division III record in the best one-year win-loss turnaround with an 11.5 win improvement from 2017 to 2018. Both players were the only representatives of the Atlantic East Conference on the All-ECAC teams.
